Traveling with your dog in France or Europe is entirely possible with proper preparation. Here's everything you need to know for a successful vacation.

Administrative Preparation

France: No specific documents required if your dog is microchipped. Europe: European pet passport (issued by your vet) + up-to-date rabies vaccination for most EU countries. Post-Brexit UK: Specific rules, plan 4 months in advance.

Car Travel

Mandatory: Contain your dog during the journey (travel crate or approved safety harness). Stop every 2 hours. Water available. Never leave a dog in a car in summer (fatal heatstroke in less than 15 minutes).
